We would like to take this opportunity to share with you the news that Barry Coleman has retired from Finance Matters since the 29th February 2020.

Barry has had a lengthy and illustrious career working in the Financial Services industry for over 46 years. When he left Terenure College in 1973, he joined Irish Pensions Trust (now Mercer). Barry went on to be recruited and headhunted to key roles in a number of significant Corporate pension firms including Bain Dawes Ireland Ltd (now AON) in 1977, L&P Financial Trustee of Ireland (now Cantor Fitzgerald) in 1980, Abbey Life Ireland (now Irish Life) in 1984 and Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS) in 1988.

In 1991, Barry channelled his energy and experience into his own business. He established Finance Matters in Ranelagh, Dublin with a pioneering business model. In 2000 IIB Bank purchased the business as IIB Bancassurance. In 2004, when KBC bought out IIB Bank, Barry retained IIB Bancassurance and continued to manage it as Finance Matters.

In 2017, Barry and I reached an agreement for Irish Mortgage Network to purchase Finance Matters. We have been delighted that Barry continued to work with us for the last three years, providing his expertise and ensuring a smooth transition. Barry will now fully retire from Finance Matters.

Barry built a strong and successful business through his hard work, dedication and vast knowledge and experience. His contribution to Finance Matters will always be valued and remembered with admiration and thanks. We wish him a long, happy and fulfilled retirement with Susanne, his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

We want to assure you that Finance Matters remain committed to providing you with the highest quality of service that Barry has always given. We look forward to many more years of providing you with your financial services needs to help you to secure and protect the lifestyle that you want.
